The Church Has Left the Bible
- a book explaining why the church today barely resembles the one Jesus established.
Thomas Lacheney is the author of "The Church has Left the Bible.” He has been married to his high-school sweetheart (Carolyn) for over 30 years, and they have three wonderful children together.
He and Carolyn serve as co-pastors of a church they founded in 1997. They initially built a church with over 250 members only to discover that they had not built what God wanted. For the past few years they have been seeking to become the kind of church, and the kind of church leaders that the Bible envisioned them to be.
Tom has an B.S. in Financial Management and a J.D. he received from the University of Richmond School of Law. He is a licensed practicing attorney in the state of Virginia and has handled a diversity of civil litigation, business legal issues, and ministry legal matters. He and his retired law partner (John F. Deal) represented numerous churches, ministries, and ministers in the course of their 16 year law practice together.
More importantly, Tom has been a born-again disciple of Jesus for over 30 years. In that time, he has been involved in virtually every aspect of ministry. Tom and Carolyn have been youth group leaders, children’s church teachers and leaders, nursery workers, home group leaders, deacons, Missionettes directors (Carolyn), men’s group leaders (Tom) and pastors.
In addition to his pastoral duties, Tom speaks German and has ministered many times in Germany. He is also currently actively involved in ministry in the Federal Bureau of Prisons where he teaches and preaches on a regular basis.
